Children’s, Parent’s and Teacher’s Wellbeing
We are so passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and our programmes provide each person with a toolkit of life skills that will help them understand and manage their emotions, become more self aware, believe in themselves, see their potential and strive to reach it!
Every Voice Counts is a simple, cost effective and powerful tool to boost engagement and communication within schools.
The idea is the brainchild of an expert in IT and web based software and an educator who has taught for over 25 years with experience as a Department Head, Pastoral Leader and a member of SMT.
Engagement
Staff engagement is the core of every successful organisation. It has tangible results for morale, wellbeing and productivity. Every Voice Counts will enable more staff to take an active interest in the direction their school is heading, whilst in the long-term could aid with recruitment and retention.
Empowering
Outside of more traditional hierarchical meeting structures, Every Voice Counts allows staff to offer ideas that perhaps they might have been concerned about raising.
Communications
Once improved engagement is achieved, the process of developing meaningful and robust communication can begin. Leadership will have the confidence to be transparent with staff and in turn staff will have a greater understanding of the, often tough, decisions they make.
Creativity
With engagement, communication and empowerment comes creativity. The greatest strength of the best schools is their staff. Allowing staff to have input can create a togetherness which will have huge benefits not only for the school but also the students.
An individual and small group project supporting young people to physically and metaphorically ‘find their voice’.
‘Finding My Voice’-what does that mean?Physically-During the course young people learn to become more confident in speaking whether this is publicly, to their friends or in sharing their feelings more clearly.
Metaphorically-Finding my voice also means young people sharing and discovering what their individual talents and interests are and how they can develop these during their school life and into their ambitions for the future.
What the course involves…
Every project is unique to the young person’s needs. Normally it will begin with a ‘getting to know you’ session and as the course develops it becomes a personalised project. Each project has a real-life purpose. This may be an individual or group venture creating something, performing or going to meet someone inspiring…the options are endless!
What happens when the course finishes?
When the course finishes the young people graduate and become ‘Finding my Voice’ mentors in school, supporting other children on the project both individually and in groups. They also have opportunities to attend special events termly.

Hands Down Education coaching mission:
Provide others with the confidence, tools and guidance needed to accelerate their own development.
Kate knows the importance of coaching at all stages of our careers. A coaching session as a wonderful alternative to a training course, especially if someone needs support in a very specific area.
Drawing on years of experience, particularly in challenging contexts, we provide one to one support for teachers in any area.
As with everything Hands Down Education offers, together we can adapt the support to suit the individual and we can fit the support into the development opportunities you provide in-house. We can create an individual programme of support or, if needed, just a one-off session.
